How can i get rid of redness and swelling from pimples?

I don't have many pimples but its embarressing when i do get them with the redness and swelling. Is there any treatments i can use to reduce or minimize the redness and or eliminate the pimples altogether? How can i get rid of redness and swelling from pimples?
Wash regularly. When they do come up (it's inevitable) I would use Burt's Bees Blemish Stick. It's an all natural product. Basically it's a tube filled with alcohol and other stuff that you roll on to the broken out areas of your face. Also buy the Burt's Bees Deep pore scrub with peach and willow bark. Wash your face with that daily. This stuff is kinda expensive but it works =)How can i get rid of redness and swelling from pimples?
Hello mikejameshockey,

Well of course regular facial hygiene is the most important part of any skin care program. I would suggest an antibacterial gel soap for regular cleaning.

For specific outbreaks a simple triple antibiotic cream used on the affected area twice a day will reduce spread.

To reduce the redness and inflammation a simple 1% Hydrocortizone cream does wonders. It reduces swelling and allows healing quicker.

I have had constant outbreaks all my 59 years. These have been the simplest and most effective methods that I have found to combat the outbreaks

I found about 15 years ago that changing my diet to low fat low calorie not only improved my skin tone, texture and resistance to the suseptability of outbreaks I lost a lot of excess weight and feel much better overall.

Of course any of the suggestions you receive her you should run by your doctor before starting any such type of treatment.
Well first you need to get a better soap for your face, try something like Purpose (blue box, bar of soap) its made by Johnson and Johnson I think. If you go to CVS or any chain drugstore they will have it.

You need to wash your face 2 or 3 times a day.

You might want to try something like stridex pads at night or something like that.

You can try to take down the redness and swelling with a cold compress but the only thing that will really do it is the skin clearing up.

If the above does not work I would try to get your parents to take you to a Dermotologist %26lt;sp%26gt;?

Good luck, its a tough part of growing up but take care of it now so you dont have scars or marks all of your life from it and picking at it.
I like using natural treatments, since these are usually more gentle and cheaper.

Lemon juice - dilute some lemon juice with water and apply to the affected area. Helps with pimples, skin spots, and oily skin.

Cabbage juice - boil some red cabbage, strain off the cabbage to get the juice, cool the juice before applying to skin. Helps with pimples (and may act as an astringent too, I forget).

In general, washing your face often helps to wash away the oil, dirt, and bacteria from your face. But using too much face wash will also dry out your skin. I usually use a gentle, foaming (not scrubbing or exfoliating) face wash once a day, and wash with plain warm water after every time I go outside.

Also drink a lot of water. This will keep your skin healthy and flush out toxins from your system.
You cant totally eliminate them if it is just the odd one or two and not chronic acne. You didnt say if you are a teenager or not??

If u are you just gotta wait it out really. If like me you are past that stage but still get the odd annoying biggie right on ur forehead or the end of your chin or something well at night b4 i go to bed I use a dab of that deep cleaning mud mask stuff just to draw it out a bit. Then when I have cleaned it off I apply a thick layer of an antiseptic cream like germolene or somethin.

Im the worlds worse for picking my pimples LOL but really try not to cos when it heals it goes scabby and crusty and is much harder to hide with a teeny bit of concealer than if you had just left it alone even tho it felt huge to u
Use Ice to reduce redness right away....use nozema to wash your face instead of soap
Use a mask with sulfer in it.
Wash twice a day.
proactive works good
put sum ice on them
do not pick them
